Goodguys 2012 Street Rod Headquarters Truck of the Year-Early Winner
Frank & Mary Lawrence’s ’48 Chevy pickup has been named Goodguys 2012 Street Rod Headquarters Truck of the Year-Early. After making its debut at the 2011 SEMA Show – the flawless pickup was chosen as a finalist for the Truck of the Year award at the Goodguys Fall Del Mar Nationals last year. The award is designed to honor an outstanding pre’-’53 tricked out truck.
The chopped top, lengthened doors and section body are just a few of the 80 body mods on the ’48 Chevy from Bakersfield, California. It sits on a custom chassis by Ironworks Speed & Kustom featuring Wilwood brakes and Schott wheels. Power is courtesy of a hard charging 376ci LSX with a Magnuson supercharger. Ironworks handled the entire build for the Lawrence’s under the watchful eye of Rodger Lee.
The color, a cinnamon/sun kissed hue is called “naughty spice.”
Look for the Lawrence’s truck inside the “Champion’s Arena” sponsored by Street Rod Headquarters at the Goodguys 15th annual Southwest Nationals, November 16-18 at Westworld in Scottsdale, Arizona.
