Ironworks Speed & Kustom
was
started in 2001 in a 700sq ft shop in Downtown Bakersfield. In those
6 years we have moved 3 times and our now in our 8000+ sq ft shop in
Northwest Bakersfield. We currently have 6 guys working under our
roof with everyone having their own specialty. We do everything from
chassis fab, to extensive sheetmetal fabrication, to high tech
wiring installations. We are not a paint shop that assembles cars we
are a fabrication shop that engineers and builds ground pounding
vehicles from the ground up.
We specialize in fabrication of high end automoblies that not only
look amazing from all angles, but handle and perform like a new
vehicle or race car. We strive to build the absolute best product,
with the best parts avalible, to give you a vehicle that you can be
proud of every aspect, from they way the chassis is built, to the
organization of the wiring under the dash. If you would like to
discuss a project you are looking to build do not be hesitate to
call the shop. |

The
BlackGold/C6-57 that has been covered by Bob Ryder of Truckin
magazine is a 57 Chevy truck that was started in November of 2005 as
a project idea we wanted to do after selling the C4-57 to Rick
Foltin. The C4-57 project was featured in Classis Trucks magazine in
a 3 month build up story. The guys
at Ironworks had the idea to build a tube chassis to hold the drive
train of a C6 corvette under the pickup truck. Well after a year and
a half and about 3000+ hours we have a truck that has been in 15
magazines ( Hot Rod, Popular Hotrodding, Classic Trucks, Truckin,
etc) and has had over 50 pages of magazine coverage before it was
even in paint. It has been covered in a month to month build up
article in Truckin on "How to Build a Cover Truck".
